Assembly Committee on Criminal Justice (Part 1 of 3)

The Assembly Committee on Criminal Justice held an executive session and public hearing on November 12, 2009 at the State Capitol. During the public hearing, the committee heard testimony on the following items: Assembly Bill 373 relating to providing information to a firearms dealer when purchasing a handgun, authorizing the Department of Justice to prosecute violations of certain laws regulating firearms; Assembly Bill 503 relating to exposure to a minor and providing a penalty; and Assembly Bill 515, relating to reckless bodily harm to a child. During the executive session, committee members discussed and voted on the following items: Assembly Bill 232 relating to duties upon striking a person or an attended or occupied vehicle and providing a penalty; Assembly Bill 324 relating to impersonating certain officials and providing a penalty; Assembly Bill 413 relating to crimes against children committed by certain persons; and Assembly Bill 432 relating to notification requirements for persons who must register as sex offenders and who are on school premises and providing penalties.
