News Conference: AG Kaul Urges Assembly Health Committee to Hold Public Hearing on Legislation to Prevent Future Backlog of Untested Sexual Assault Kits

On December 3, 2019, Attorney General Josh Kaul held a news conference near Rep. Joe Sanfelippo’s (R-West Allis) office, urging the chair of the Assembly Committee on Health to immediately hold a public hearing on legislation designed to prevent a future backlog of untested sexual assault kits. The legislation was introduced by a group of bipartisan legislators in May 2019: Sen. Robert Cowles (R-Green Bay), Sen. Patty Schachtner (D-Somerset), Rep. Melissa Sargent (D-Madison), and Rep. David Steffen (R-Green Bay).
