Newsmakers: Funding for the Brewers Stadium in the Biennial Budget

The future of the Milwaukee Brewers (American Family Field) in Wisconsin is expected to be the next big budget debate in the state legislature. GOP leaders pulled the Governor’s plan to spend nearly $300 million to help fund necessary repairs to the stadium and lock the Brewers into a contract through 2043, but no one knows exactly what new plan may emerge. On May 22, 2023, members of the Home Crew Coalition, a group of community and business leaders from across the state, joined WisconsinEye’s Newsmakers to make their case for why now is the time for the state to step in.
