Newsmakers: Milwaukee's Art, Cultural, and Entertainment Needs

A Public Policy Forum report found that publicly-owned arts, cultural and recreational facilities in Milwaukee County face capital needs of $246 million through 2017, and privately-owned arts and cultural facilities want to make $64.9 million in improvements over the same period. Meanwhile, the cost to build a new arena to keep the Milwaukee Bucks and upgrade the downtown convention center has been estimated at $700 million. Three leaders – Rob Henken of the Public Policy Forum, Tim Sheehy of Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra President Mark Niehaus – discuss how to meet these needs.
