Newsmakers: Minnesota Sen. Tony Lourey

Minnesota State Sen. Tony Lourey (DFL), a leader in the health-care debate in that state, explained in a Newsmakers interview why Minnesota accepted the federal government's offer to pay to expand Medicaid and to set up its own health-care insurance exchanges – decisions that Wisconsin elected officials chose not to make. As a result, about one million Minnesota residents will qualify for care, Lourey said. He was interviewed before a Wausau conference on the impact of the Affordable Care Act in Wisconsin on June 14.
