Newsmakers: PFAS Legislation with Senators Wimberger and Roys
The legislature has been trying and failing since at least 2019 to pass legislation related to regulating PFAS, man-made substances or forever chemicals that can end up in drinking water. This session one bill, Senate Bill 312 and its Assembly companion have some momentum with $125 million of set aside funding in the biennial budget. Still the legislation is not without its critics. On June 27, 2023, bill author Senator Eric Wimberger (R-Green Bay) and Joint Committee on Finance member, Senator Kelda Roys (D-Madison), joined us on WisconsinEye’s Newsmakers with a status update on the legislation.
