Newsmakers: Sen. Mark Miller

Senate Democratic Leader Mark Miller (D-Monona) told WisconsinEye today that Republicans dropping sanctions against he and other Dems who fled to Illinois was only a "first step" in restoring the trust needed to run the Senate. Miller said Republicans and Dems must re-establish a working relationship before the next scheduled Senate session on April 5. Miller also said Dem Sen. Tim Cullen is the only Dem willing to change the state Constitution to weaken a three-fifths voting requirement to pass spending bills. That requirement must stay to protect the rights of the minority party, Miller added.
