Newsmakers: UW System and Technical Colleges in the Biennial Budget
In the midst of declining enrollment, Wisconsin’s higher education institutions are making the case for increasing their operating budgets and student aid, saying additional funding is crucial to building Wisconsin’s workforce and essential for the health of the economy. On May 15, 2023, WisconsinEye’s Newsmakers host Lisa Pugh was joined by President of the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Dr. Morna K. Foy and President of the University of Wisconsin System (UWS) Jay O. Rothman to share their budget priorities and discuss the latest issues related to each of the higher education institutions they lead.
