Wisconsin Public Utility Institute: Nuclear Status in the Midwest (Part 1 of 4)
Wisconsin Public Utility Institute sponsored a three part series entitled "Meeting Base Load in a Carbon Constrained World," on three different days in the summer of 2009. The third part of the series, "Nuclear—Status in the Midwest," addressed the role of nuclear power in the future energy portfolio of the region. The event took place on July 31, 2009, on the UW-Madison Campus. The workshop opened with Jeff Kitsembel of the Wisconsin Public Service Commission on the topic of nuclear power here in Wisconsin and Paul Wilson, Associate Professor in the College of Engineering at UW-Madison on what we are doing with spent nuclear fuel.
