Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create an account?

You can create an account at wiseye.org/register.

What will I have access to with my account?

All registered users will be subscribed to our free WisEye Membership. This allows logged-in users to watch any on-demand program and use our video tools including direct link segment sharing, transcription and downloads.

  • Please see the WisconsinEye schedule page for an up-to-date list of what we are covering each week.
  • Sign up for e-newsletters for coverage highlights when you create an account or on our newsletters page.
  • Check out our Pro-Tips resources page for information on how to use our schedule page, search for content and use our video tools.

Why do I need to create an account?

Creating an account gives WisconsinEye an opportunity to connect and communicate with our users in a meaningful way. Registered users will be asked to agree to our terms, opt-in to our newsletters and stay up-to-date on important details relating to WisconsinEye. We do not sell your information to other parties.

Please note, you do not need to create an account or be logged in to watch any of our live streams.

I currently have a paid membership, how do I change to a free membership?

Prior to our paywall changes in 2023, users were required to upgrade to a paid membership to access on-demand legislative and state Supreme Court coverage after 24 hours – along with use of our video tools. If you are currently registered as paid subscriber – active, cancelled, expired – we invite you to change to the free WisEye Membership as we complete phasing out our paywall restrictions.

Login to your account, then select the “My Account” icon in the upper right of our website. You can either click the icon or hover over the icon with your mouse for a drop down menu to appear that will allow you to select “My Account” – both methods will take you into your account settings.

Once in your account settings, select “Membership” from the left menu. In the “Actions” column to the right in the “Membership” table, select “Upgrade or Change my membership” to select and change to a free WisEye Membership.

Choosing “Cancel my membership” will cancel your current paid membership. However, this action will expire your account after a month which may prevent you from accessing our content and video tools. It is recommended to change your membership to avoid any lapse in access.

WisEye Membership Cancellation

You will need to contact us if you would like to cancel your free WisEye Membership. This action will result in the deletion of your account because there is no option to cancel as it is the default membership when you register. However, once your account is deleted, you can always re-register under the same email or a different email the next time you need to access our content and video tools.

Refund Policy

During this paywall phase out, some users may experience unintended charges or may have upgraded to a paid membership before the changes were implemented. Please reach out to info@wiseye.org for assistance regarding this issue. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5-10 business days.

“Future Excellence” Endowment Campaign

Since WisconsinEye is no longer requiring a paid subscription, please consider joining our “Future Excellence” endowment campaign. Your charitable contribution of any size will be matched dollar-for-dollar, thanks to a bipartisan act of the Wisconsin Legislature and Gov. Tony Evers.

We appreciate your on-going support and commitment to keeping WisconsinEye available to the public for years to come.
