Newsmakers: 2012 Political Calendar with GAB Director Kevin Kennedy
Legislators and political party leaders have rearranged Wisconsin’s political calendar this year. The presidential primary that was held in February four years ago will be held on April 3 this year, for example, and what for decades has been the September partisan primary will be held on Aug. 14. In a Newsmakers interview on Jan. 9, Government Accountability Board Director Kevin Kennedy explained the changes and why, because new boundaries for Assembly and Senate districts have not yet been approved by judges, the June 1 deadline to turn in nomination papers may for the Nov. 6 election may still be changed.
