Newsmakers: Big Cat Rescue & Educational Center
On August 6, 2015, Senior Producer Steve Walters took a tour of the Big Cat Rescue and Educational Center in Rock Springs, WI, then interviewed owner Jeff Kozlowski who helped establish the sanctuary in 2005. In reaction to the recent news of a non-native big cat on the loose in the Milwaukee-area, Sen. Van Wanggaard (R-Racine) is set to make legislation to prohibit owning exotic pets in the state of Wisconsin. In this Newsmakers interview, WisconsinEye hopes to learn how these animals are cared for and the pros and cons of owning and caring for exotic animals.
