Newsmakers: Child Abuse Reporting Gap

In a December 21, 2011 Newsmakers, five professionals who research, investigate and prosecute child sex abuse by pedophiles talked about how high-profile alleged assaults by Penn State and Syracuse coaches offer new opportunities to confront the problem and educate parents and children. The panelists were: psychologist Anna Salter, a national and international consultant and author of  “Predators:  Pedophiles, Rapists and Sex Offenders”; Barbara Knox, Physician & Medical Director – UW Child Protection Program at American Family Children’s Hospital; Mary Anne Snyder, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Children’s Trust Fund; Ismael Ozanne, Dane County District Attorney; and Madison Police Detective Maya Krajcinovic, who specializes in investigation of child sex assaults.
