Newsmakers: Economic Development Corporation CEO Paul Jadin

In a June 16 Newsmakers interview, Paul Jadin talked about becoming the first CEO of the new Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, which replaced the state Commerce Department. Jadin talked about running a business-like entity, hiring five vice presidents and convincing business leaders worldwide to locate or expand in Wisconsin. Jadin, a former mayor of Green Bay and Chamber of Commerce director, said Wisconsin has eight specialized economic "clusters" — including printing, biotechnology and defense contracting — that the new corporation will market worldwide. For example, defense contracting could eventually mean up to 50,000 Oshkosh-area jobs, Jadin added.
