Newsmakers Exit Interview with Rep. Marlin Schneider
Democratic Rep. Marlin Schneider will end a record 40 years in the state Assembly on Jan. 3, when the new Legislature is sworn in. In a Newsmakers interview on Nov. 10, Schneider — a former high school teacher who picked up the "Snarlin’ Marlin" nickname for his outspoken ways –talked about his loss in the Nov. 2 election, why he spent decades championing privacy issues, his accomplishments and how the Legislature changed over that period. The 67-year-old said he had hoped to serve four more years in the Assembly before retiring.
