Newsmakers: Sen. Dale Schultz's Decision
On November 4, 2013, Senior Producer Steve Walters walked the family farm of Republican Sen. Dale Schultz and then sat down at its kitchen table to talk politics. Although Schultz, a legislator since 1983, said he won't make up his mind until later this year on whether to seek re-election in Senate District 17, he also made it clear he is thinking about running as an independent. He also talked about Republican Rep. Howard Marklein, who has already announced that he will run for the Senate seat. If Schultz seeks' re-election as a Republican, he would face Marklein in a primary next year.
