Newsmakers: Solar Energy and Community Solar in Wisconsin

Solar energy in Wisconsin is still in early stages, but there is marked progress as the state moves toward a goal of carbon-free by 2050. Still, some policymakers say burdensome regulation has kept growth slower than in other states. On April 4, 2023, Newsmakers was joined by two Republican legislators – Senator Duey Stroebel and Representative Scott Krug who have brought back a community solar bill that is opposed by utilities and Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, but that has a growing coalition of support.
