Newsmakers: Speaker's Task Force on Human Trafficking
January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and Wisconsin is making progress to protect victims. Eleven bills are making their way through the legislature following last week’s announcement by the Speaker’s Task Force on Human Trafficking that their work has completed. Leaders of the committee admit, this is just a first step; there is still much to be done. Task Force Chair Representative Jerry O’Connor and Vice Chair Representative Jodi Emerson join WisconsinEye’s Newsmakers via zoom on January 15, 2024 to summarize their proposed legislation and next steps.
