Wisconsin’s economy is facing the same challenges as other states including record-high inflation and workforce shortages, but the state’s strengths and strategies to meet those challenges are unique. DWD Secretary-designee Amy Pechacek has been on the job since December of 2020, taking over the agency during a crisis in the unemployment insurance system.
