Newsmakers: Wisconsin's Wolf Management Plan
Grey wolves remain on the federal endangered species list even while Wisconsin celebrates a successful recovery of the wolf population. Next week the Natural Resources Board will consider a hotly debated wolf management plan that the DNR says is a logical step toward federal delisting, returning control of the wolf population to the state and reinstating an annual wolf hunt. On October 16, 2023, WisconsinEye’s Newsmakers Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Large Carnivore Specialist and lead author of that plan, Randy Johnson joins WisconsinEye’s Newsmakers to discuss.
