Senate Committee on Judiciary

The Senate Committee on Judiciary, Corrections, Insurance, Campaign Finance Reform, and Housing held an executive session and public hearing on December 15, 2009 at the state Capitol. During the executive session, the committee discussed the following items: Moessner, Jeffrey of Eau Claire, as a member of the Council on Domestic Abuse, to serve for the term ending July 1, 2011; Senate Bill 335 relating to using county jail funds for costs related to providing educational and medical services to county jail inmates; Senate Bill 375 relating to the exchange of electronic records contained in the Consolidated Court Automation Program and in the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System between the director of state courts and the Department of Children and Families and providing a penalty; Assembly Bill 47 relating to prohibiting persons convicted of certain felonies from providing martial arts instruction to minors. During the public hearing, the committee heard testimony on the following items: Potter Edward, of Mt. Pleasant, as a member of the Real Estate Appraisers Board, to serve for the term ending May 1, 2012; Senate Bill 413 relating to receivership for abatement of residential nuisances; Senate Bil
