Assembly Committee on Education

The Assembly Committee on Education held an executive session on January 12, 2010 at the state Capitol to discuss the following items: Assembly Bill 115 relating to directing school boards to provide instruction about the recent history of the Hmong people; Assembly Bill 140 relating to adopting federal law as it relates to an income tax deduction for certain educators and creating an individual income tax deduction for educators who use their own funds to purchase classroom educational supplies; Assembly Bill 520 relating to participation in interscholastic athletics and application of the public records and open meetings laws to interscholastic athletic associations; Senate Bill 154 relating to school safety plans, pupil records, and school bullying by Joint Legislative Council; Assembly Bill 247 relating to granting high school diplomas to certain veterans with service-connected disabilities; Assembly Bill 616 relating to: school nurses and the administration of drugs to pupils.
