Campaign 2011: Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg
On March 30 — one week before the April 5 election — Senior Producer Steve Walters interviewed Asst. AG JoAnne Kloppenburg, one of two candidates for a 10-year term on the Supreme Court. Kloppenburg, who is challenging Justice David Prosser, said the rule on recusals the Court adopted last year does not go far enough. If elected, Kloppenburg said she would push for specific new rules on when a justice should withdraw from a case. She also said voters angry at collective bargaining changes Republicans passed through the Legislature, and signed into law by Gov. Scott Walker, should vote for her to elect an "impartial" justice. Prosser was interviewed by WisconsinEye on Monday, March 28.
