News Conference: Gov. Evers Announces Special Session on Education Funding and Property Tax Relief
On February 6, 2020, Gov. Tony Evers, with Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, held a news conference to sign Executive Order #69 calling the Legislature to meet in a a special session to use the $250 million in projected revenue surplus to recommit to two-thirds state funding for K-12 education including investments in school-base mental health services and special education aid, $10 million in rural sparsity aid, and $130 million in property tax relief through equalization aid.
