Wisconsin State Senate Floor Session
On April 15, 2020, the Wisconsin State Senate held an extraordinary session on the COVID-19 response bill. The bill will allow Wisconsin to capture millions in federal dollars on top of the $2 billion in coronavirus funding from the federal CARES Act. The legislation also eliminated the one-week waiting period for unemployment benefits. Senators were given a choice to attend either in person or virtually. Members who attended in person, as is customary for legislative sessions, were required to follow a set of guidelines to maintain proper social distancing.
