6th Annual Wisconsin Public Education Network Summer Summit

On July 24, 2020, Wisconsin Public Education Network hosted their 6th annual summer summit.

Agenda includes:

  • 9:30 – 10 AM: Welcome from Superintendent of Public Instruction Carolyn Stanford Taylor, welcome from the Sun Prairie host team including Superintendent Brad Saron and Board President Steve Schroeder, Wisconsin Public Education Network’s Annual Report, and a morning address from Governor Tony Evers
  • 10 – 10:45 AM: Panel discussion with Charles Franklin and Angela Lang, moderated by Dr. Julie Underwood, to kick off the Summer Summit’s theme: Public Education and Democracy
  • 11 AM – 12 PM: Break Out Session – Back to School With a Backpack full of Questions: What’s Next for Wisconsin Kids in 2021? A conversation with educators and policy experts
  • 12:45 – 1:45 PM: Break Out Session – Black Lives Matter at School: How Can Our Institutions Be Part of the Movement to End Racism?
  • 2 – 3 PM: Keynote Conversation: Despite the Best Intentions: How Racial Inequality Thrives in Good Schools, and what we can do about it? Dr. John Diamond – Kellner Family Distinguished Chair in Urban Education, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Julie Underwood – President – WI Alliance for Excellent School
