2025 State of the Tribes Address and Wisconsin State Assembly Floor Session

The 21st Annual State of the Tribes address will feature St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin Chairman Thomas Fowler who will welcome members of Wisconsin’s 11 federally recognized tribes and deliver this year’s address from the State Capitol in Madison on March 18, 2025. The Wisconsin State Assembly will also hold a floor session on the following: Assembly Bill 24: county sheriff assistance with certain federal immigration functions; Assembly Bill 94 / 95 / 96: ratification of the agreement negotiated between the State of Wisconsin  and the Wisconsin State Building Trades Negotiating Committee, for the 2024-25 fiscal year; Assembly Bill 98: pupils wearing traditional tribal regalia at a graduation ceremony or school sponsored event; Assembly Bill 99: authorization for tribal governments to copy certified copies of vital  records for administrative use; Assembly Bill 101: requiring school districts to report information related to American Indian  children attending school in the school district; Assembly Joint Resolution 18: honoring the life and public service of Representative Jonathan Brostoff
