Newsmakers Campaign 2011: Supreme Court Candidate Joel Winnig
Joel Winnig is one of four candidates for the Wisconsin Supreme seat of incumbent Justice David Prosser. In a January 21, 2011 Newsmakers interview, the Madison-area lawyer talked about his belief that Supreme Court justices should be involved in court-related issues involving other branches of state government. Winnig also said Justice Michael Gableman “lied” when he approved a negative ad in his 2008 campaign against then-Justice Louis Butler. He said his experience representing average citizens in all types of cases is a key reason why he should be elected to the court. The two winners of the Feb. 15 primary election will go on to the April 5 general election.
