Newsmakers: Concealed Carry with Sen. Pam Galloway & Rep. Jeffrey Mursau

On the day before public hearings on bills that would legalize the carrying of concealed weapons in Wisconsin, Senior Producer Steve Walters interviewed the two legislators who leading the push for the change. Sen. Pam Galloway (R-Wausau) and Rep. Jeffrey Mursau (R-Crivitz) said both have sponsored bills that would both allow the carrying of concealed weapons without permits or with permits issued by the state Department of Justice. Galloway and Mursau said they want to hear public comments before deciding on whether to accept any requirement that someone must receive basic training to receive a concealed-weapon permit. They said they expect the full Legislature to soon agree on a bill and send it to Gov. Scott Walker, who they predicted will sign it into law. Wisconsin and Illinois are the only two states that do not have concealed carry laws.
