Newsmakers: John Daniels Jr., Chair of the Greater Milwaukee Committee
Born and raised in Milwaukee, and proud of his hometown, John W. Daniels Jr. is the new chairman of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, a major player in regional civic, educational and lifestyle issues. In a Newsmakers interview on June 3, Daniels talked about his top priority – improving educational opportunities — and why the committee is helping MPS fill more than 700 teaching vacancies. He also defended the Committee's endorsement of changes in structure and pay of the Milwaukee County Board, explained what the Milwaukee Bucks mean to the city and talked about his efforts – noted nationally — to bring more diversity to the legal profession. Daniels is chairman of the Quarles & Brady law firm.
