Newsmakers: Liberal Leaders, What's Next?

The last few months have not been kind to Wisconsin liberals and union activists, who have seen Republican Gov. Scott Walker and GOP majorities in the Legislature pass new tax breaks and vote to limit collective bargaining for public employees to cost-of-living raises. In an April 20th Newsmakers, leaders of four groups who disagree with Republican priorities talked about their goals for the state budget, potential recall elections for some state senators and, ultimately, the 2012 elections. Talking about their frustrations and strategies for change were Peter Rickman of the Teaching Assistants’ Association, Anne Sayers of the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters, Leon Burzynski of the Wisconsin Alliance for Retired Americans and Scot Ross, executive director of One Wisconsin Now.
