Newsmakers: Senators Lena Taylor, Tim Cullen and Spencer Coggs
In a Newsmakers interview in an Illinois hotel on Feb. 22, Democratic Senators Lena Taylor and Spencer Coggs, both of Milwaukee, and Tim Cullen, of Janesville, vowed to not return to the Capitol until a compromise is reached that doesn’t remove most of the rights of public employees to bargain collectively. They also talked about secretly staying in different locations in northern Illinois, trying to avoid Tea Party conservatives aimed at protesting their decision to leave Wisconsin. All said they — not taxpayers — are paying their hotel, food and travel bills.
